School Bulletin: Tigerville Elementary School

Here are the latest announcements from Tigerville Elementary School in Taylors.

- Tigerville Elementary was recently recognized with an Energy Star Rating from the Environmental Protection Agency due to its students' and staff members' work to minimize wasted electricity, which has resulted in savings to the district. Twelve Greenville County schools were recognized for their efforts.

- Disability Awareness Day will be held on Friday, March 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Those that can volunteer for this important event, please contact Cheri Orozco at 355-4604.

- Report cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, March 27.

- Tigerville was well-represented at the recent Reedy River Run in downtown Greenville. Alex Tate, Abbie Barnette, and Kriya Kouyoumjian ran the One Mile Fun Run. Abby King, Baylie King and Corey Tinsley ran the 5K. Karlee Cothran and Amber Barnette ran the 10K.

- Miss Piedmont Amanda Styles visited the primary classes and shared with students the book "The Crown on Your Head," written by Nancy Tillman. Students all received crowns to show how important they are to the school and their families.

- Jump Rope for the Heart was a big success. All students were able to participate in 45 minutes of jumping rope and other physical activities.

- Spring Break for students and staff members is April 2-6. In addition, students do not attend school on Monday, April 9 because of an unneeded snow day.
