Sheriff's Office Investigating Alleged Armed Robbery

A male victim alleges he was robbed at gunpoint in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office took a report Wednesday night of an armed robbery that had allegedly occurred several hours before being reported to the authorities.

Jonathan Smith, public information officer for the GCSO, said that a male victim, upon finishing his shopping at the Wal-Mart at 3027 Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors, parked his car to the upper left corner of the parking lot there. The victim said he heard someone beside him, and saw an unidentified black male with a gun pointed at his face. The suspect told deputies that the man stole money from his back pockets and fled on foot.

Smith said the victim did not report the incident to law enforcement until roughly three hours later.
