Laura Campbell, spokesperson for the department, said deputies had blocked nearby roads and intersections near Little Texas Road and Clearview Road just outside of Travelers Rest.

At roughly 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the GCSO's warrants division attempted to serve an arrest warrant in the area. The subject inside the residence would not comply with the deputies' orders and told deputies he was going to harm himself, according to Campbell.

"Deputies were able to confirm that the subject is in the home alone and are attempting to resolve the situation peacefully," Campbell said.  "Deputies have area roads and intersections currently blocked to maintain security of the scene."
