Slain Soldier Receiving Hero's Welcome
Adam Ross was killed in action in Afghanistan on July 24.

A 19-year old Lyman man who was killed two weeks ago in Afghanistan returns home Thursday, and members of the community are trying to make sure Adam Ross receives a hero's welcome, WYFF reports.
Ross, a 2011 graduate of Byrnes High School and private in the United States Army, was killed in action in Afghanistan on July 24. Ross' body is about to arrive at Greenville-Spartanburg Airport this afternoon, and Rev. Keith Kelly and others are gathering at the intersection of Poinsett and Main Streets in Greer to pay respect to Ross as his body is driven into Greer from the airport. His body was set to arrive at the airport at 1:20 p.m.
Visitation is Friday at 6 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church in Greer. The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Baptist, with a military burial following at Wood Memorial Gardens on Gap Creek Road.
