VIDEO: St. Francis Eastside Celebrates Earth Day, Energy Star Certification

There was a party of sorts going on Tuesday in the main courtyard at the St. Francis Eastside campus near Taylors.

Media and hospital staff alike gathered at the hospital as St. Francis Eastside celebrated both awareness of Earth Day, and in the same vein, the hospital's Energy Star certification by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

System-Wide, Bon Secours st. Francis Health System's cumuulative savings in energy costs exceed $1.1 million.

Since joining the Energy Star program in 2006, St. Francis Eastside increased its Energy Star rating from 32 to 84 by managing energy strategically throughout the facility, including an 85-percent reduction in HVAC-relaced service calls.
