Students Return To School Wednesday
It's that time of the year. Here's all you need to know about the new school year.

Greenville County Schools will welcome back more than 70,000 students in grades 4K through 12 on Wednesday, August 22. Students attend school in 99 schools and centers, including 51 elementary schools, 18 middle schools, 14 high schools and 16 special centers. The largest school district in South Carolina and 49th largest in the nation, Greenville County Schools employs about 8,600 full- and part-time permanent staff members. This number includes about 4,580 teachers and about 358 bus drivers, in addition to support staff, custodians, other school personnel and administrators.

School Entrance Requirements
Five years old on or before September 1 must enroll in public or private kindergarten
Six years old on or before September 1 must enroll in first grade
To Register a New Student
State-Issued Birth Certificate
Properly Completed Immunization Certificate or Religious Exemption Certificate
Proof of Residence (at least 2 documents)
School Hours
4K Full Day - 8 am – 2:30 pm (NOTE: Half Days August 22-24)
Elementary
Grades 5K – 5th - 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Middle
Grades 6-8 - 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
High
Grades 9 – 12 - 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
