Taylors Dad Killed, Daughter Injured in Hiking Accident
The pair were hiking Wildcat Falls in northern part of the county.
A Taylors man died Sunday after he and his 5-year-old daughter fell while hiking Wildcat Falls in northern Greenville County.
Emergency workers estimated that Mark N. Jones may have fallen as far as 100 feet, Greenville County deputy coroner Kent Dill told the Greenville News.
Jones, of 217 Wittrock Court, was pronounced dead at Greenville Memorial Hospital from multiple injuries, the paper reported. His daughter also was injured in the fall, but the report gave no details.
Dill said Wildcat Falls has seen its share of injuries and deaths over the years.
