Lottery winner said his wife told him not to get his hopes up, as they drove to the lottery office in Columbia to claim his prize.

This could have a been a fisherman's tale.
A man told his wife he's just won $200,000 playing the S.C. Education Lottery and, she laughed.
But it's true, according to a release from lottery officials, a Taylors man is $200,000 richer.

"I didn't believe him," the wife told lottery officials. "I was dying laughing."
The man invited his wife along on the drive to Columbia to claim his prize. She agreed to the drive, but told him not to get his hopes up.

The man said he knew he was a winner, after scratching off the 20X The Money instant ticket alone in his car while enjoying a drink and a pack of crackers he picked up inside the Spinx Company #189 in Greer.
The check proved him right.
As of this release, two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the ten dollar 20X The Money game.
The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 480,000.
Spinx Company #189 in Greer received $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.
