TD Bank Lends Helping Hand

TD Bank employees were out in force on Tuesday, helping out in their communities to celebrate the bank's one-year anniversary in South Carolina. 

Store managers, consumer loan officers and other employees took to the Upstate and other parts of the state Tuesday to perform random acts of kindness to show the state the company's appreciation for its business. Some 150 TD employees statewide volunteered in South Carolina. 

In Taylors, 15 employees went to in Taylors to paint the school's walls. Hidden Treasure is a school for special needs children on West Lee Road. TD Bank employees were there for more than four hours Tuesday. 

"TD Bank believes in serving the community," said Beverly Boudocies, retail market manager vice president for the bank's Greenville-Spartanburg region. "It's not only a privilege, but an obligation." 

In Anderson, TD Bank volunteers will be joined by eight Clemson MBA students to paint rooms at Anderson Interfaith Ministries and volunteer in the ministries’ soup kitchen. As part of their MBA experience, Clemson students are charged with giving back to the community. The events will serve as a tool to teach them the value of social responsibility in the business world.

TD Bank volunteers also assisted Tuesday at the Community Garden in Easley with, and at Anderson Interfaith Ministries. 

Boudocies said TD employees would continue their efforts into tomorrow, which will include delivering pizzas to local fire departments in the Greenville area. She added that community service will likely become a quarterly occurrence for the company.
