Tee Times Set for Greer, Simpsonville Golfers in U.S. Senior Open

Jacob Ferenz of Simpsonville and Todd Hendley and Jay Haas both of Greer hope to make the cut to play in the final rounds of the 2013 U.S. Senior Open Championship.

Three area golfers have qualified for the United State Golf Association's U.S. Senior Open in Omaha, Neb.

Last month, Jacob Ferenz of Simpsonville won a qualifier in Nashville, Tenn. A week later, Todd Hendley of Greer won a qualifier at Daniel Island Club Beresford Course.

Jay Haas of Greer earned exempt status for the championship.

A field of 156 players will compete in the first two rounds July 11 and July 12. The field will be cut to those golfers scoring in the low 60s, including ties, plus anyone within 10 strokes of the leader following the completion of the second round.

Ferenz will be paired with Tommy Brennan of Covington, La., and William Israelson of Staples, Minn. Tee time for the trio is set for 7 a.m. Central time.

Haas is paired with Larry Mize of Fortson, Ga., and Bob Tway of Edmond, Okla. Tee time is at 8:03 a.m. Central time

Hendley is paired with Martin Verdegaal of Hanford, Calif., and Jeff Whitfield of Weldon Spring, Mo. Tee time is set for 2:19 p.m. Central time.
