Travelers Rest Woman Arrested for Transporting Stolen Copper Wire
On two occasions, Megan H. Baucom illegally transported copper wire to OmniSource.

A Travelers Rest woman is charged with violating a new state law pertaining to transporting metals.
On two separate occasions, Greenville County deputies said Megan H. Baucom, 26, of 139 Carman Trail, violated the new law by obtaining a permit and then using it to transport stolen metals. Deputies said that on both Sept. 9 and Sept. 12, Baucom drove her Ford Escort to bring stolen metal to OmniSource at 7 Pinsley Circle with the intention of selling it. She was charged with two counts of obtaining a permit for transporting or selling stolen nonferrous metal.
Deputies said Baucom did obtain a 12-month nonferrous metal permit from the Sheriff's Office.

Baucom was released from the Greenville County Detention Center on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond for each charge.
