USC Upstate Professor Suspended During AG's Investigation

On March 25, S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson announced his office has ordered Ric Routh to cease and desist from offering unregistered securities related to a new private college start-up.

A college professor accused of offering unregistered securities related to a new private college start-up has now been suspended without pay.

On March 25, S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson announced his office has ordered Ric Routh of Rutherfordton, N.C., to cease and desist from offering unregistered securities related to a new private college start-up, Invictus University.

A spokesperson for USC Upstate confirmed Tuesday that Routh, a business informatics professor, had been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the Attorney General's investigation.

The University said that Routh's classes will be handled by other faculty members and that student's should not be affected by the move.
