Wade Hampton Area Businesses Under Federal Investigation
The owner committed suicide as annuity checks mailed to investors bounced.

There is currently a federal investigation into two locally owned businesses, according to a report by WYFF4.
Cornerstone Mortgage and Southern Bankers on Wade Hampton Boulevard are now closed, but remain under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
The owner of the businesses, Charles Candler, reportedly committed suicide on March 1 in Knoxville, Tenn.
