A Greer woman contacted police after she said two couples had come to her home, peeked in the windows and inquired about renting the home.
The woman said that after talking with the two couples, she found out that her home is listed on Craigslist and is apparently a part of a rental scam, according to an incident report.
The homeowner said she was able to find her home listed on Craigslist and contacted the number listed in the advertisement, the report said. The woman said she was told that if "she wanted to rent the home to just go buy and look in the windows." The person then told her where to send him the money and he would send the keys.
When officers contacted the subject listed in the ad, the subject hung up on the officer, the report said.
