Youtube Video Prompts Safety Concern For USC Upstate Athletic Director

College officials are taking a video posted by a former volunteer coaching assistant as a threat.

USC Upstate officials say the proper authorities are investigating a threatening video post made by a former volunteer coaching assistant, according to WSPA

On Monday, the university confirmed it had received word about a video post late Saturday evening directed at Athletic Director Mike Hall that has prompted a university police department investigation.

On July 13, Colton Hodge, a former volunteer track and field coaching assistant, posted a video of himself on YouTube. In the video, Hodge asks S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley to help in his quest to become the athletics director for USC Upstate.

The video contained profanity and thinly veiled threats against Hall, including phrases such as the athletic director was "flirting with death," and "you can die in the blink of an eye."

Hodge said the rap video was just a form of expression, and that he does not plan on harming Hall.
