10-Year-Old Critically Injured In South Nashville Shooting

A 10-year-old boy was shot in the torso inside a Humber Drive apartment Friday night.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the torso inside his South Nashville apartment Friday night.

Metro Police said it is possible that the shooting on Humber Drive was accidental. The early stages of the investigation were hindered by the language barrier - the child's parents speak Burmese - as police worked to find an interpreter.

The boy was taken to Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt around 9:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his torso.
