16-Year-Old Girl Charged With Killing Fellow Teen
Metro Police arrested a 16-year-old girl Saturday for shooting and killing a fellow teenager last week.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A 16-year-old is charged with criminal homicide and unlawful gun possession, accused of shooting and killing a fellow teenager last week.
Metro Police arrested Jazmine Wheeler, 16, Saturday, charging her in the death of Jose Gutierrez, a 16-year-old Glencliff High School student. Early Tuesday, Gutierrez was dropped off at Southern Hills Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head. He was later taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and died there Tuesday.
Investigators say Wheeler, Gutierrez and several others were driving around, looking for cars to burglarize early Monday.

While stopped at the Arbor Knoll Apartments, Wheeler reportedly told detectives she was trying to hand Gutierrez a pistol from the back seat to the front seat when the gun accidentally fired, wounding him.
Wheeler is being held in juvenile detention.
