19-Year-Old Charged In South Nashville Shooting

Police say a 19-year-old shot a man during a robbery bid Dec. 19 and had a 15-year-old girl as a getaway driver.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police arrested a 19-year-old for the Dec. 19 shooting of a man outside a South Nashville garage.

Police say Arnold Marks was trying to rob the man at the Ezell Pike business and that his accomplice is a 15-year-old girl.

According to investigators, the girl called the victim over to the car and as he approached, Marks jumped out, pulled a gun and demanded money. When the victim said he had no cash, Marks shot him, according to police.

Marks and the teenage girl - acting as getaway driver - fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was able to identify Marks as the shooter, according to detectives.

Marks is charged with attempted robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
