Ambulance Crash Snarls I-24 For Hours

Eastbound Interstate 24 was closed for hours Saturday morning after a wreck involving an ambulance.

ANTIOCH, TN -- A wreck involving three cars, including an out-of-county ambulance, shut down Interstate 24 for more than five hours Saturday.

The crash near the Haywood Lane exit closed the eastbound lanes of the interstate from 4:30 a.m. until nearly 10.

There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the wreck. One person involved in the crash was hospitalized with critical injuries.
