Antioch Apartment Fire Displaces Dozens

ANTIOCH, TN — Thick black smoke from an apartment fire in Antioch poured into the sky Saturday night, visible as far away as downtown, 15 miles to the northwest.

Nashville Fire crews were called to the Pebble Creek Apartments just before 6 p.m. Saturday and though firefighters were able to put out the blaze fairly quickly, four units were completely destroyed and several others damaged.

Overall, 36 people were forced out of their homes. The American Red Cross is assisting.

There was no immediate word on injuries or the cause of the fire.
