Antioch Apartment Fire Forces Families Out

An HVAC unit sparked a fire in an Antioch apartment complex, forcing a dozen families elsewhere.

ANTIOCH, TN -- A heating unit in an Antioch apartment sparked a blaze early Friday, forcing a dozen families to find somewhere else to stay.

Nashville Fire crews responded to a call at the Baker Station Apartments on Bakertown Road around 12:45 a.m. Friday. The fire from the HVAC system had filled one unit with smoke. The residents of that unit called 911 and alerted their neighbors.

By the time NFD arrived, flames were coming from the roof, but firefighters were able to put the blaze down fairly quickly. The unit where the fire began suffered smoke and water damage, but the entire building is not a loss.
