Drugs, Guns, Money Seized In South Nashville Raid
A traffic stop led Metro Police to a massive drug bust, officials say.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Three people were arrested and drugs, guns and cash were seized during a bust following a traffic stop in South Nashville Thursday.
Metro Police attempted to a stop a car for a moving violation when suddenly it stopped and two people jumped out and ran away, according to an affidavit. After a brief chase, 36-year-old Albaro Mendez and 19-year-old Hector Herrera were arrested.
Police said they found more than $89,000 in cash inside the pair's car, leading to a search warrant for a home on Lyle Lane, where investigators say they discovered 16 grams of heroin, more than 8,000 grams of cocaine, a handgun, rifle and another $127,000 in cash.

While serving the search warrant, officers said they saw Veronica Gomez-Guerra, 43, enter the home and then leave with a bag full of money.
Gomez-Guerra is charged with possession of drugs and weapons, tampering with evidence and money laundering.
