Ex-Con Shoots Self In Leg At South Nashville McDonald's: Police

Metro Police found guns reported stolen from Rutherford County after a convicted felon shot himself in the leg.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A convicted felon shot himself in the leg outside of a South Nashville McDonald's Thursday, leading to the discovery of guns stolen out of Rutherford County, according to Metro Police.

Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Kentrell Walton, 18, accidentally shot himself in the leg while riding in the front seat of a car driven by 18-year-old Jacques Odom as they were leaving the McDonald's at 1174 Murfreesboro Pike, according to investigators. Odom drove Walton to Southern Hills Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators say they found three handguns reported stolen from a Rutherford County gun store inside Odom's car. Walton reportedly told detectives one of the guns was his.

Walton is charged with theft and felon in possession of a handgun. Odom and another 18-year-old passenger, Coreion King, are charged with theft, as well.
