Glencliff Student Dies From Gunshot To The Head
Detectives are investigating how a 16-year-old Glencliff student incurred an eventually fatal gunshot wound.
NASHVILLE, TN -- Jose Gutierrez, a Glencliff High School student, died Tuesday, one day after he was dropped off at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
Gutierrez was 16 years old.
Gutierrez and a female friend were dropped off at Southern Hills Medical Center at 1:15 Monday morning. A male and two other females who were in the car that took Gutierrez to the hospital then drove away.

Metro Police detectives said someone inside the car may have been "mishandling a pistol" when the gun fired, striking Gutierrez. They have been unable to corroborate that story or identify the other three people who were in the car that dropped off Gutierrez.
