Hair Extensions Worth Thousands Stolen From Antioch Salon

The owner of an Antioch salon says thousands of dollars worth of hair extensions and her cash register were stolen early Tuesday.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Thousands of dollars worth of hair extensions were stolen from a South Nashville salon early Tuesday.

Carissa Josaphat, owner of The Carissa Collection on Hickory Hollow Parkway, posted a picture of the salon's busted-in front glass door on Facebook Wednesday afternoon and told NewsChannel 5 her shop was broken into early Tuesday with the thief stealing $9,000 worth of hair extensions along with her cash register.

"You can't just come and take from somebody that they worked hard for, just because you don't want to work hard. It's just not right," she told the station.

She explained that many of her customers are in the early stages of chemotherapy or alopecia and that wigs and extensions are important to "bring that confidence back to somebody."

Metro Police are investigating the burglary. Surveillance footage shows that the thief was picked up and dropped off by a getaway driver in a red sedan.
