Nashville Mom Lied About Missing Toddler: Police

Metro Police say a Nashville mom filed a false missing-child report in an effort to get the child's father to come home after a fight.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police spent hours searching for a 3-year-old girl early Friday morning, but later found that the toddler was never actually missing, according to investigators.

Amanda Floyd, 30, reported her daughter missing from her Harding Place home around 1:30 Friday morning. Police spent nearly two-and-a-half hours searching for the little girl but later found that she was asleep inside the home the whole time.

Floyd initially told police the little girl escaped from the home after her father left the door open following an argument. Later, according to an arrest report, she admitted she made up the child's disappearance in an effort to get the girl's father to return home.
