National School Walkout: Antioch Students May Face Charges
Police and school officials are investigating to determine if students who disrupted the National School Walkout should face charges.
ANTIOCH, TN -- The students who disrupted Antioch High School's National School Walkout event may face charges as Metro Police and Metro Schools investigate the incident which saw a group of students rip down the flag and stomp on a police car.
As the names of the 17 people killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. were being read, a group of "unruly" students rushed the school's flagpole, ripping down and stomping the American flag, throwing water bottles and eventually kicking and jumping on a police car.
Tony Majors, Metro Nashville Public Schools executive director of support services, told Fox 17 MNPS and Metro Police are investigating whether charges - including vandalism, extreme disruption and reckless endangerment - are warranted.

Thursday, a group of students led a renewed demonstration that included the reading of the 17 names, the raising of the flag and playing of the national anthem.
βThat is so symbolic of the character of the students here at Antioch High School and the students in Metro Nashville Public Schools. While a few students chose to behave inappropriately, there are another 2,000 to 2,100 that chose to do the right thing,β Majors told WZTV
