Rekindled Kitchen Fire Destroys South Nashville Condos

Flames shot through the roof at a South Nashville condo complex, as a rekindled kitchen fire destroyed three units.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A fire that rekindled after more than five hours destroyed three South Nashville condos early Friday.

Nashville Fire crews were first called to a kitchen fire inside a condo on Country Drive around 10 p.m. Thursday night. Firefighters were able to hold the blaze to one unit.

However, the fire sparked back up around 3:30 a.m., this time shooting flames through the roof of the complex and damaging four nearby units. Crews fought the blaze for more than an hour before tamping it down.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
