South Nashville Man Tries To Stop Car Theft, Gets Shot

NASHVILLE, TN -- A man was shot in the leg overnight Saturday while trying to stop his car from being stolen.

The man told Metro Police he saw three people, who he said were in their late teens or early 20s - trying to break into his car in the 1000 block of Thompson Place. He told investigators that when he confronted then, one of the trio fired two gunshots, hitting him in the leg.

The three then ran away. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
