Brentwood PT Gives Up License After Sexual Misconduct Claims
A Brentwood physical therapist surrendered his license following at least three claims of sexual misconduct by patients.

BRENTWOOD, TN -- A Brentwood physical therapist voluntarily surrendered his license following at least three allegations of sexual misconduct by former patients.
Perry Smith, who worked at ProMotion on Cadillac Drive in Brentwood, said that the sexual contact was consensual but gave up his license in lieu of its revocation by a state licensing board. He will also pay a $1,000 penalty and the costs of the prosecution.
Three women complained to the Board of Physical Therapy, alleging sexual touching during stretching exercises, exposure of their anatomy and sexual touching. The complainants all said the contact was not consensual.

In a hearing, Smith admitted to sexual contact with three patients, but said that the kissing and touching was consensual, according to the board's records.
Smith stopped seeing patients Dec. 11 and was in the process of winding up his practice when the board issued its ruling.
