Early Voting Underway For Williamson Sales Tax Referendum
Early voting in the referendum to raise Williamson County's sales tax runs through Feb. 1.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Early voting in the referendum to raise Williamson County's sales tax rate to help fund schools is underway and runs through Feb. 1.
The referendum would raise the local-option sales tax rate across the county from 2.25 percent to 2.75 percent, with the increase earmarked to pay debt service for Williamson County Schools' capital projects. It's estimated to generate at least $60 million over three years.
Early voting will be held at the Williamson County Election Commission Office at 1320 W. Main St. in Franklin from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to noon. Saturdays. The election commission will remain open until 6 p.m. starting January 29.

After early voting concludes, countywide voting will be held Feb. 6 at regular polling places.
