The Tennessee Association of Community Leadership (TACL) recently appointed new Board members and elected officers for 2022. TACL serves as a resource to help build, support, and enhance community leadership development in counties across the state.
New Board members include: Tasha Holmes, Leadership Collierville (West TN); Courtney Hutcheson, Youth Leadership Knoxville (East TN); Mark Hutchins, Board Member of IMPACT Leadership (Middle TN); Rachel Smith, IMPACT Leadership (Middle TN); Delaney Timberman, Leadership Hardin County (West TN); Lynn Tucker, Leadership Brentwood; Kara Williams, Leadership Maury County (Middle TN) and Tori May-Holt, Leadership Roane County serving Ex-Officio as the 2022 Conference Chair (East TN).
Elected to serve as our 2022 Officers are: Chair: Cindy Schueman, IMPACT Leadership (Middle TN); Vice Chair: Travis McLeese, Leadership Paris-Henry County (West TN); Secretary: Ellen Wilhoit, Leadership Sevier (East TN); Treasurer: Virginia Grimes, WestStar Leadership (West TN); and Immediate Past Chair: Shelby Matthis, Leadership Jackson Alumnus (West TN).
Working with our officers are the returning Board Members: Stephanie Brackman, Leadership Rutherford (Middle TN); Brandy Gentry, Monroe County Leadership (East TN); and Kathy Parks, Youth Leadership Roane County (East TN).
Serving in an Ex-Officio position are: Susan Carlisle, Gattis Regional Leadership (Middle TN) – Marketing Support – (Middle TN); Martin Jelinek, Leadership Jackson / WestStar (West TN) – Webmaster; Jack Matthis, Leadership Jackson / WestStar (West TN) – Accountant; Robert (Bob) Smith, WestStar (Middle TN) – Advisor.
A total of 104 leadership programs, 22 individuals, and two business members across the state make up the membership for the association. These members include adult, youth, and senior leadership development programs, as well as alumni associations representing communities across the state of Tennessee. Our future goal is to have every community leadership program working with us as members to advance leadership development across the state.
“Our mission is to be a resource for the growth and development of existing, as well as new leadership development programs across the state,” said Judy Renshaw, Executive Director. “We are excited that our fall Annual Leadership Conference this year will be in Roane County in East Tennessee. The Conference is just one of the great opportunities we provide for networking, growth, sharing of ideas, and recognition of the great job being done in each of our counties across the state by leadership development programs…..creating leaders to lead our communities and state now and in the future.”
TACL also wants to recognize the contribution of Board members retiring at the end of 2021: Deann Bradford, L’Evate Leadership (Middle TN); Lindsay Frilling, Leadership Obion County (West TN; and Rick Meredith, Leadership Anderson County (East TN).
