Williamson County Unemployment Drops To 2.1 Percent
The unemployment rate is below 5 percent in all 95 Tennessee counties, with Williamson's still the lowest.

BRENTWOOD, TN — The unemployment rate in Williamson County was 2.1 percent in September, down 0.6 percent from the August figure, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. All 95 Tennessee counties reported a decline in joblessness for the second straight month and for the first time ever, all 95 have unemployment rates below 5 percent.
Once again, Williamson County has the state's lowest unemployment rate. Eight of the 10 lowest county numbers were in Middle Tennessee.
In the last year, the Williamson County jobless number has decreased 1.8 percent.

The estimated city-level figure for Brentwood is 2.2 percent, down 0.7 percent from August. In neighboring Franklin, it is 2 percent, down 0.5 percent from August, and still the lowest among the state's cities of at least 25,000 people.
The state rate, reported last week, is 3 percent, down 0.3 percent from August.
