18-Year-Old Indicted In Deadly Talbot's Corner Accidental Shooting

An 18-year-old is charged with reckless homicide in an accidental shooting that killed his friend in August.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Nashville grand jury indicted an 18-year-old for reckless homicide in an August accidental shooting that killed his 19-year-old friend.

Malik Khayyam, 19, was playing with a pistol inside a Donald Street home in Talbot's Corner August 4 when Kenneth Brown tried to take the gun from him and accidentally pulled the trigger.

Khayyam was struck in the neck and died at the scene. At the time, police said Brown and two other people inside the home were cooperative with the investigation and initially no charges were being sought.

Khayyam was a popular DJ who performed as DJ Malik.

Brown is being held on a $50,000 bond.
