2 Arrested After Ramming Patrol Car In Stolen Malibu: Nashville Police

Two men face a cavalcade of charges after allegedly ramming a police car with a stolen Chevy Malibu.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two men stole a Chevrolet Malibu and then rammed a Metro Police car Sunday, according to investigators.

Shortly before noon Sunday, police spotted the Malibu, which had been reported stolen, being driven through an alley near the Cheatham Place public housing development. A police car driven by Officer James Jarvis entered the alley and, according to an arrest report, the driver of the Malibu, 25-year-old Dashawn Slone, accelerated the Chevy towards the patrol car and rammed it.

The crash, which did not injure Jarvis, disabled the Malibu. Slone and his 18-year-old passenger, Malik Jones, were arrested at the scene. Investigators say two handguns, one of which had been reported stolen, were found in the car.

Slone and Jones are both charged with aggravated assault against an officer, felony theft, theft, and criminal trespassing. Slone faces additional charges of marijuana possession and felon in possession of a handgun. Slone is being held in lieu of $87,500 bond. Jones is being held in lieu of $52,500 bond.
