2nd Suspect Charged In Deadly Hermitage Home Invasion

Metro Police arrested the alleged accomplice of a man killed by a homeowner during a Hermitage home invasion.

HERMITAGE, TN -- Metro Police arrested the alleged accomplice of the man killed by a Hermitage homeowner during a home invasion last month.

Devon Colvin is charged with especially aggravated robbery. He reportedly told the girlfriend and father of Terry Adams that he was with him when he was shot and killed by Brent Bishop in Hermitage March 28.

Bishop told police he arrived at his house on Richard Lee Circle around 9 p.m. that night and found two "strange men" - presumably Colvin and Adams - inside his home armed with a hammer, screwdriver and knife. He told investigators he found the rear door open and when he came inside, one of the men struck him on the head with a blunt object.

In the meantime, the robbers left the home and Bishop retrieved his pistol and went to look for his wife, as he was unaware where she was, he told police. While searching for his wife, he once again encountered the robbers and in "the ensuing altercation...fired on them," Metro Police said.

Bishop shot and killed Adams, 27, of Ashland City. Colvin dropped the weapons taken from Bishop's gun safe and ran, according to detectives.

Bishop is not expected to be charged in Adams' death.
