76-Year-Old Woman Dies In Briley Crash

NASHVILLE, TN -- A 76-year-old woman died after a head-on crash on Briley Parkway near Ellington Parkway Sunday afternoon.

The woman was a passenger in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that was exiting Briley onto Ellington. The Impala, which police said was driving too fast for the wet road conditions, failed to make the curve on the ramp, crossed the median onto the Briley on-ramp and hit a 2010 Chrysler 300.

The woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at Skyline Medical Center. Police are working to locate her next of kin and her identity was not released.

The 81-year-old driver of the Impala was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, as were the 74-year-old driver of the Chrysler and a 63-year-old passenger.
