Accused Goodlettsville Child Rapist Found In Remote White County Woods
A 51-year-old accused of raping an 11-year-old girl was found near Virgin Falls in a remote area of White County.
GOODLETTSVILLE, TN — A 51-year-old wanted for raping an 11-year-old in Goodlettsville was arrested Friday in a remote part of White County, more than 120 miles away.
Sterling Marshall Carter and the girl were cleaning a business on Conference Drive Sunday. The police report says Carter approached the girl in a woman's bathroom, removed her shorts and underwear and raped her on a nearby couch.

Carter then allegedly fled and was missing for four days until he was located in Virgin Falls State Natural Area in White County. Police said Carter was carrying a 9-millimeter pistol when he was arrested.
Investigators say Carter admitted to the rape. He is charged with three counts of rape of a child and is being held on $300,000 bond.
