Alleged East Nashville Killer Arrested In Texas
Federal marshals arrested a 33-year-old man in Texas suspected of shooting and killing a woman outside a Nashville liquor store.

ELGIN, TX -- A 33-year-old man wanted in the shooting death of a woman outside a Dickerson Pike liquor store was arrested by federal marshals Tuesday in Texas.
Kevin Newson has been on the run since Friday night, when police said he shot Jacqueline Johnson, 32, outside of Firehouse Discount Liquors on Dickerson Pike.

After an altercation inside the store, Johnson was shot in the neck in the parking lot around 8:45 p.m. Friday. She was taken to nearby Skyline Medical Center where she died.
Newson is charged with murder and aggravated assault and is awaiting extradition back to Nashville.
