Cayce Homes Shooting Injures 1

A man sought in a shooting at Cayce Homes Tuesday told police it was self-defense.

NASHVILLE, TN -- One man was injured in a shooting Tuesday morning at James Cayce Homes in East Nashville and the alleged shooter is claiming self-defense.

Neighbors told police they heard arguing and then a few gunshots from inside a unit in Building 96 at Cayce Homes. Tyquez Burns, 21, was injured and taking to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is expected to recover.

After the shooting, detectives said they wanted to speak to 34-year-old Quentin Transley. Later, Transley spoke to police at the East Precinct and said the shooting was in self-defense and turned over a pistol.

The investigation continues and no charges have yet been filed.
