Couple, Dog Escapes House Fire With Alarm's Help
An elderly couple and their dog safely escaped a house fire late Sunday night with a heads-up from an alarm.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Nashville Fire Department officials credited smoke alarms with helping an elderly couple and their dog escape a blaze late Sunday night.
The couple awoke to hear their alarms sounding shortly before midnight Sunday at the home on Marswen Drive near Briley Parkway. When NFD crews arrived, flames were shooting 20 feet from the roof.
The couple and dog were evacuated safely and the fire contained, though the home has significant damage, including a hole in the roof.
