Nashville Fire officials say a heater sparked a Madison fire that killed a dog and sent a woman and girl to the hospital.

MADISON, TN -- One dog is dead and others are missing after a house fire in Madison sparked by a heating unit.
The Nashville Fire Department arrived at a house on Nawakwa Trial around 11:15 Friday morning to find flames coming from the home. All the people who were inside at the time the fire started were safely outside when crews arrived.
One of the people in the house told fire investigators they heard a pop and then the fire spread rapidly from a heating unit on to the second floor. An adult woman and school-aged girl were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
