Driver Charged In Fatal Madison Hit-And-Run
A 48-year-old man said he became "scared" after hitting a woman with his minivan May 9 while he was on his way to Walmart, police said.

MADISON, TN -- A 48-year-old man is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident that killed a woman in Madison May 9.
Metro Police said Gregori Morente told investigators he was on his way to Walmart when the "lady stepped in front" of his minivan near the intersection of Myatt Drive and Spring Branch Road around 8:30 p.m. May 9. Investigators said Morente told them he was "scared" and drove away.

The woman, who has still not been identified, was then struck by a second car, though that driver stayed behind and is not going to be charged.
Morente is charged with failure to render aid, leaving the scene of an accident involving death and driving on a suspended license.
