Driver Critical After East Nashville Crash
A 28-year-old man is in critical condition after an early Friday morning wreck in East Nashville.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A 28-year-old man is in critical condition after crashing his car in East Nashville early Friday morning.
Witnesses told police that a white Kia sped through the intersection of Main Street and Seventh Street around 3 a.m. Friday, hitting a large sign.
When police arrived, they found a semi-automatic handgun in the passenger seat of the car and they initially believed the driver had a gunshot wound to the head.

Doctors at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, however, determined that the wounds were sustained in the crash itself.
