Fire Damages East Nashville Duplex

A Woodland Street duplex suffered significant smoke and water damage in a Monday fire but no one was injured.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A fire swept through a Woodland Street duplex early Monday morning, displacing its residents because of significant smoke and water damage.

Nashville Fire Department crews responded to the blaze in the 1600 block of Woodland Street around 4:30 Monday morning and found smoke and a light fire at the rear of the house.

All three of the people living there were able to escape uninjured, but they were displaced because of the damage.
