Hermitage Carjacker Speeds To Wilson County: Police
A carjacker sped in a stolen Mercedes from Hermitage across the Stones River into Wilson County and escaped, police say.
HERMITAGE, TN -- An early Tuesday morning carjacking in Hermitage led to an ultimately unsuccessful cross-county car chase.
Metro Police say just before midnight, a car pulled in front of a blue Mercedes near the Shute Lane-Lebanon Road intersection. The passenger in the stopped-short car hopped out and allegedly pulled a gun on the Mercedes' driver and stole the car.
The driver told police the car sped down Lebanon Road and into Mt. Juliet, prompting a pursuit, eventually called off because of excessive speed.
