Identity Thief Busted Trying To Secure $12,000 Loan: Police

A 57-year-old man allegedly used a fake driver's license in an attempt to secure a $12,000 loan in Goodlettsville.

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN -- A 57-year-old man attempted to secure a $12,000 loan Monday using a fake driver's license and someone else's identity, police say.

According to an affidavit, Michael Chester went to the Rivergate Parkway branch of Old Hickory Credit Union and sought the loan. He presented a Florida's drivers license and used the name and information from that license on the loan application.

It was all another man's personal information, police said, and when they searched Chester they found two credit cards and other paperwork with the other man's name. Police contacted the victim who said other loans had been fraudulently taken out using his name in the last few months.
