Man Arrested For 2009 Hermitage Murder
A man wanted for killing a 24-year-old woman in Hermitage in 2009, when he was 17, was arrested Wednesday.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police arrested a man suspected in a 2009 murder Wednesday.
Nearly nine years after the murder of 24-year-old Melissa Ann Tyler Ramirez, who was killed at her Hunting Drive home in 2009, police arrested Elias Olea, 26, at a Gallatin Pike restaurant. Olea, who was allegedly hiding in a restroom when he was apprehended, was 17 at the time of the murder.
Olea was indicted for the murder in 2013 and is believed to have spent much of the past five years out of the country.

A co-defendant, Christian Gutierrez, who was 16 when Ramirez was shot, was convicted of facilitating first-degree murder in 2015 after the case against him was transferred to the adult system. He received a 20-year sentence.
In 2011, police began searching for Olea and Gutierrez. At that time, police said both had connections to the Brown Pride Gang. Detectives learned early in their investigation Ramirez had relationships with affiliates of that gang.
