Man Charged With Vehicular Homicide In Deadly Old Hickory Crash

OLD HICKORY, TN -- A 39-year-old man faces vehicular homicide, aggravated assault and vehicular assault charges following a deadly crash in Old Hickory Thursday night.

Police say Tommy T. Hamilton, 39, collided with four vehicles the intersection of Robinson Road and Industrial Drive, killing a 41-year-old man. Four other people were injured.

Police say Hamilton was involved in a hit and run in the 1200 block of Robinson Road prior to the fatal crash, hitting a van with his 2003 Chevrolet pickup. Investigators say he sped away, then crossed over all the oncoming lanes of Robinson Road and then swerved back into the northbound lanes. That's when he hit a Honda Accord, killing the driver and injuring a passenger. He also hit a Ford pick-up, a Prius and a Kia Forte.

Police say Hamilton admitted to drinking beer before the crash and empty beer cans were in his truck.
