Man Shoots Self In Leg, Snarls Interstate Traffic

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN -- Traffic backed up on Interstate 65 near Goodlettsville Sunday night after a man accidentally shot himself in the leg inside a car.

Police said the man was a passenger in a car and accidentally pulled the trigger around 7 p.m. Sunday on I-65 near the Long Hollow Pike exit.

The man's injuries are not life-threatening and he was taken to Skyline Medical Center for treatment.

Police did, however, shut down the northbound lanes of I-65 near the exit for about an hour while the investigated, causing significant back-ups.
